Agent VinodAgent Vinod is in big trouble prior to release — the film’s release has been banned in Pakistan and other big trouble is that the Iranian band has filed the lawsuit against the music director, producer and the music company of the film since the initial portion of the song ‘Pungi Bajaa De’ has been lifted from their popular track without any change.

The band Barobax Corp is seeking the stay on the release of the movie that features Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor in the main lead. On Wednesday, the band approached the High Court in Mumbai for the stay on the release of this spy thriller due to the open copyright violation. The film is officially to release on Friday, March 23rd in India and abroad.

On March 16th, Barobax Corp served the legal notice through its appointed law firm Vidhii Partners to the movie’s concerned — music composer Pritam Chakraborty, Illuminati Films Private Ltd, Eros International Media and Super Cassettes Ltd with their claim that the track Pungi Bajaa De was copied from the band’s popular number Soosan Khanoom composed in 2010 and is registered on June 30th in 2010 under Copyright Act in Canada.

Upon receiving no response at all from any of the concerned from the film, the band now decided to approach Bombay High Court for the stay on film’s release. The band also seeks the restraining order from using the track in the film (which is being used for promotions and has become popular among the masses).

As per the latest reports, the Bombay High Court is likely to hear the case tomorrow on Thursday. And if copyright violations are found, the film’s release may be stopped.

If this happens, this would be a mammoth trouble for Saif Ali Khan as he is much touchy for his film since he names it his most ambitious project to date.
